Vlicha to Lindos €35ppDuration: 3 - 4hrs
This walk has some rough terrain, but is mostly on paths, crossing over an open mountain side which leads into a narrow valley. From the valley, more Equipment:
You will require adequate foot wear for walking on these paths, walking boots are advisable. We suggest that you wear light long sleeve shirts and light trousers in addition to a sun hat, sun cream sunglasses. You should bring a rucksack or similar, as it will be necessary to carry your lunch, personal items and at least two liters of water. Food:
You should bring sufficient food and water (2 liters) to last the day. This route takes approx. 5hrs; the best rule of thumb is always to come away from a walk with some food and water spare. Walking conditions:
This walk is mostly on paths and tracks, there are some areas that become slightly uneven underfoot, and the mountain path which leads into a narrow valley requires attention when walking, it is best to stop to take in the coastline view on this path as it would be easy to trip if not concentrating on foot placement. Our walk begins along the beach, where we go inland to walk around our first crag, there is a short hill that is unwelcomed so early in the walk Equipment:

The terrain is quite varied underfoot on this walk. The main uphill sections are on good tracks and there are some sections of dirt track. Approximately half the walk is on single-track footpaths. We will follow the coastline so there are great views for most of the walk. Stops & Breaks:
As this is a shorter walk, we will generally stop for several shorter breaks over the course of the walk rather than a long lunch stop. Our walk leaders know the best places to stop for example where there is shade or a good view. Throughout the day, there is plenty of opportunity to stop for a rest, to admire the view or to take photos Archangelos to Seven Springs €35ppDuration: 3 - 4hrs
Trickling streams, rustic bridges and the scent of pine and a lake feeding the spring that’s named Efta Piges, our walk starts from the village As we approach Seven Springs the pine trees become more dense and the evidence of water is apparent. Cool your feet, take off your walking boots and walk through an underground tunnel that runs under a wooded hill to feed the lake. The return to Archangelos take us on an alternative route with a contrasting landscape.

![]() This route mostly follows good tracks though these can be quite rough underfoot at times. There are some shaded sections but it is best to be prepared against the sun. This area of Rhodes is not especially hilly and the walk consists mostly of easy gradients. Stops & Breaks:

This is a day of walking, scrambling and trimming vegetation back to pass through, you will require walking boots and walking socks for support and comfort while walking. It is advisable to wear light long sleeve shirts and light trousers in addition to sun hat, gaiters and gloves give that added protection from any thorns, sun cream and sun glasses as the sun will be as strong on the mountain as in the valleys but the cool air disguises its effect . You should bring a rucksack, as it will be necessary to carry your lunch, personal items and at least 2-3 litres of water, head torch in case we find any caves, caverns or gorges; there are no shops on route to buy food and water. A pair of walking poles can be helpful, we will be surplying any pruning shears or handsaws that might be required. Food:
There will be several meal stops on this route. Although there is no route a check on the time will be made and you could be out for 8hrs so come prepared with plenty of rations, it is relatively strenuous and therefore important to bring sufficient food that works well for your body and gives you best sustained energy that also taste good. ![]() Prepare for exploring were others do not go or do not even know about, from rough terrains to overgrown vegetation, this will be exciting not dangerous. (really rough areas will be left, such as 2mtr drops plus, and returned by the Walking Rhodes staff, with climbing equipment to remain safe in all areas at all times to finish off exploring these areas). Stops and breaks will be often as you will be heavily involved in planning the exploration area as much as Stephen, so discussing the next move will always involve intake of water and food. |








the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin of Mary's passing away are absolute jewels. The Castle is a rough area to walk inside and is resting place for the local goats, but fine views soon takes away your attention of the ground underfoot and the local residents, the fire damage caused to the trees can still be seen with the numerous brown dead trees on the surrounding hills, the line between the green undamged trees can be clearly seen from the castle showing how close the fire came to this beautifull little village. This 4hr walk offers a broad panorama view of the sea on the way back and ends at a lovely sandy beach.
vegetation is seen and as we cross over onto the other side of the mountain, we walk through pine trees. Returning along the coast, we make our way down into picturesque Lindos for the remainder of the day where you can visit the acropolis and meander through the narrow streets of where people easily get lost. The village was purposely built to dissorientate any invaders.
however this hill reveals views as we ascend and on the top the coastline is seen as far as Lindos. As we continue the beach disappears behind us.
of Archangelos. The tarmac road soon gives way to a dirt track that winds its way through land which bears fruit trees in fenced areas and then opens up to pine trees and olive groves.
were he goes looking for new areas to walk, find new things to see, there is not knowing what you will be doing, were you will get to and what you will discover with him, be warned Stephen can come home covered in scratches were he has pushed his way through thorned bushes to see what on the other side, but always he returns with that satisfied look that only persons with the same need to explore can have, knowing he's been where nobody else (well anybody sensible anyway) has been for a long time if at all sometimes.
